Royce Duncan Becomes the 2010-2011

 Chairman of the GSCPA

We are honored to have one of our own become the new Chairman of the Georgia Society of CPAs!

Royce has been a member of the GSCPA since 1979, and always believed in being involved and wanting to make a difference in the profession.  His involvement with the GSCPA began with the DeKalb Chapter as Program Committee chair, then vice president and president of the chapter.  His interest in politics steered him to the Legislative Committee and also the Key Person programs of the GSCPA and AICPA.

During his term, Royce and the Board of Directors will continue to focus on reaching out to the GSCPA members to make sure the organization is meeting their needs in terms of programs and services, specifically continuing professional education.

As the GSCPA embarks on a new year, Royce offers this advice:  "Stay flexible in your career goals and do not allow yourself to become too complacent or develop tunnel vision in your professional career.  Keep your technical skills updated at all times and be prepared for the many changes in our profession that lie ahead.  They will provide outstanding opportunities for those who are prepared to seize them!"

One of our partners, Brian Black, and Adam Wilson of Sugarloaf Wealth Management, paired up with our client, Matt Shirley, to participate in a sponsored golf tournament for the Pregnancy Resource Center of Gwinnett at TPC Sugarloaf.  Matt Shirley serves as Vice President on the board at the resource center.  Playing along side golf champion and long-time supporter of the PRCG, Stewart Cink, our very own foursome took home the first place trophy!

  "Only Skydivers Know

Why The Birds Sing"-anon.

Going the distance?  Soaring to new heights?

Taking a leap of faith?

Call it what you will, but Royce Duncan keeps his promises even if it means jumping out of an airplane!

In May 2009, Lindsay caught her father in a weak moment and convinced him to go on a risky but courageous adventure with her. Who would have thought she would want to skydive? What were they thinking wanting to jump out of a perfectly good airplane? These are questions that many of us had, but Royce is a man of his word.
